School Improvement Plan

For 2016/2017, our School Improvement Plan priorities are:

Priority 1: Effectiveness of Leadership & Management

To fully embed AAC communication (Makaton, PECS, specific AAC devices, intensive interaction) by increasing distributed leadership of communication in order to provide a sustained training programme and ongoing support.

To integrate RM Integris into classrooms to allow class staff to use the management information system directly. This includes the input and use of attendance and attainment data (linked to SIP - PMLD tracking).

Priority 2: Quality of Teaching, Learning and Assessment

To use the PMLD assessment tool (which is already in place) more effectively to analyse progress to ensure that pupils with PMLD are tracked in each area of the assessment so that they make outstanding progress in all area (not just an overall judgement).

Priority 3: Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare

To provide outdoor educational opportunities by developing a Forest Schools area and incorporating Forest Schools into our curriculum across all key stages.

Priority 4: Outcomes for children and Learners

To review and change the KS3 curriculum to best suit the needs of the students.

Please see documents below to view each priority in detail.
